The cookie banner
built for Squarespace.
Squarespace gives you a beautiful site. Velo keeps it legal to measure: a proper consent banner, Google Consent Mode v2 for your Ads and Analytics, and region rules for the EU, UK and US, all installed with one paste into Code Injection.
Compliant, fast,
nothing lost.
Open Settings → Developer tools → Code Injection, paste the Velo snippet into the header field, save, reload. Done. If you run Google Tag Manager, add the gallery template there instead and skip Code Injection entirely.
How it goes live
on Squarespace.
Three steps, about ten minutes.

01
Paste the snippet
In Squarespace, open Code Injection and paste the Velo snippet into the header field. Or add the Velo template in Google Tag Manager.

02
Denied by default, banner up
Velo sets the Google Consent Mode v2 denied default before any other tag runs, then shows the banner. Nothing non essential fires until the visitor chooses, and every choice lands in the audit log.

Verify and forget it
Check the consent signals flip in Tag Assistant or your browser, publish, and you are done. Region rules, records and Google's modelling run on their own from here.
Squarespace questions,
answered.
What teams putting a banner on Squarespace ask first.
Does Velo work on my Squarespace plan?
Code Injection is available on Squarespace's Business and Commerce plans. If your plan has it, the install is one paste; if you run Google Tag Manager through Squarespace, the GTM template path works too.
Will it fight the built in Squarespace cookie banner?
Squarespace ships a simple cookie notice you can switch off in settings. Turn it off and let Velo handle consent. You get category level choices, an audit log and Consent Mode v2, which the built in notice does not send.
Do I need a developer?
No. The whole install is copying one line into a settings field. The guide walks it step by step with screenshots; most sites are done inside ten minutes.
What do I actually get back from Consent Mode v2?
Legal Google measurement in the EEA, and modelled conversions for the visitors who decline. Across Amplio Data client implementations that recovers 20–40% of consent hidden conversions. Measured ranges, not a guarantee.
