Denied by default, banner up
Velo sets the Google Consent Mode v2 defaults before your other tags run, denied where your region settings ask for opt in, then shows the banner. Google tags adjust to the choice and tags you gate on Velo's consent event wait for it. Every choice is saved to your consent records.

Verify, then publish
Check that the consent signals change in Tag Assistant when you accept and when you reject, then publish. Run the same check again whenever you change your tags or banner settings.

Does Velo work on my Squarespace plan?
Code Injection is available on Squarespace's Business and Commerce plans. If your plan has it, the install is one paste; if you run Google Tag Manager through Squarespace, the GTM template path works too.
Will it fight the built in Squarespace cookie banner?
Squarespace ships a simple cookie notice you can switch off in settings. Turn it off and let Velo handle consent. You get category level choices, an audit log and Consent Mode v2, which the built in notice does not send.
Do I need a developer?
Usually not. The install is one line pasted into a settings field, and the guide walks through it with screenshots. Most installs take a few minutes when you can already edit Code Injection.
What does Consent Mode v2 do for my site?
It passes each visitor's choice to your Google tags, which Google expects for visitors in the EEA, and the tags adjust to it. Google may model some conversions from visitors who decline when its eligibility and traffic conditions are met, with no guarantee.
