A free cookie
consent banner.
Velo Free puts a cookie consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2 on one website, for €0 and with no card. It covers 2,500 monthly sessions, shows Velo branding and includes one manual scan a month.
What Free
includes.
Velo is a consent management platform, and Free runs the same banner, consent log and Consent Mode v2 setup as the paid plans. Pro changes the scale, the branding, the scans and the support.
Regional defaults
Velo reads each visitor's country at the edge and picks the default: opt in across the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina, opt out everywhere else.
Reject as easy as accept
Reject sits on the first layer with Accept, so saying no takes one click. After a choice, a small button stays on the page by default, so visitors can change their mind.
Google Consent Mode v2
Load the snippet above your Google tags and it sets the consent defaults first, then sends an update when the visitor chooses. Advanced mode is included.
Consent records
Every accept, reject and change goes into your consent log with a timestamp, so you can check what a visitor chose and when.
Global Privacy Control
In opt out regions, a browser's GPC signal turns the advertising category off, and the banner tells the visitor the signal was applied.
One line or a Tag Manager tag
Paste one script tag into the head of your pages, or import the Velo template in Google Tag Manager. Both routes load the same banner.
One scan a month
Run one manual scan per calendar month. It lists the cookies and scripts it finds and labels the ones with a known signature.
AI category suggestions
For cookies no known signature covers, AI suggests a category and a purpose. Nothing changes on your banner until you review and apply it.
Where Free
stops.
Free is built for one site with modest traffic. The table shows where it ends and what Pro adds. Pro starts at €7 a month, VAT included.

three steps.
Three steps from sign up to a live banner.
-
01
Create a free account
Sign up, then add your site in the Velo console. The site gets its own snippet. You do not need a card.
-
02
Add the snippet or the Tag Manager template
Paste the snippet into the head of every page, above your analytics and advertising tags. On Google Tag Manager, import the Velo template instead. The platform guides show where the line goes on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix and nine more.
The snippet<script src="https://cdn.veloconsent.com/v1/velo.js" data-api="https://app.veloconsent.com" data-velo-site="your-site-id" async></script> -
03
Check it on your live site
Open the site in a private window. Accept, reject and change your choice, and watch the console mark the site as installed once real traffic arrives. Get started covers every step, including your first scan and your regions.
Free plan
questions.
What people ask before they install the free banner.
Is it really free?
Yes. The Free plan costs €0 and you do not need a card to start. It covers one site, 2,500 monthly sessions and one manual scan per calendar month, with Velo branding on the banner. Email support comes with Pro; on Free, the help centre and the install guides cover setup.
What happens after 2,500 sessions?
Your banner keeps showing and keeps recording consent. Once the site passes 2,500 sessions in a calendar month, the console pauses banner edits, new sites and scans until you upgrade to Pro. The count starts again on the first day of the next month.
Can I remove the Velo branding?
Not on Free. The free banner carries the Velo wordmark, and you can still change its colours and wording. Pro adds custom branding, so your own logo replaces the wordmark.
Does the free banner work with Google Consent Mode v2?
Yes. Consent Mode v2, advanced mode included, is part of every plan. The snippet sets the default consent state as it loads and sends an update when the visitor chooses. Load it before your Google tags, or use the Tag Manager template on the Consent Initialization trigger.
Is the free banner enough for the GDPR?
It covers the banner side: opt in defaults across the EEA and the UK, a reject button on the first layer and a record of each choice. Compliance also depends on your cookie policy and on your tags respecting consent, so no banner makes a site compliant on its own.
