A CookieYes alternative for marketing teams.
Velo suits teams that run several sites and want region rules, Global Privacy Control and Google Consent Mode v2 at one monthly price with VAT included. CookieYes bills each domain by pageviews. If you need a registered IAB TCF CMP today, stay with CookieYes: Velo is not registered yet.
Consider switching if you pay CookieYes for several domains, or if you moved a site to Pro mainly for geo targeting and Global Privacy Control. Velo prices by visits rather than pageviews, and one Pro plan covers every site you add. Check both pricing pages before you decide, because prices change.

How CookieYes and Velo charge
CookieYes prices each domain by monthly pageviews, and counts a pageview every time a page with its code loads or reloads. An account can hold only one free plan, so each further domain needs its own paid plan. The pricing page shows US dollars on monthly billing, with local taxes such as VAT added on top. Annual billing gives two months free. Source: CookieYes pricing, checked on 23 September 2026.
CookieYes plans on monthly billing, per domain, before tax:
- Free, $0: 5,000 pageviews a month and 100 pages per scan.
- Basic, $10 a month: 100,000 pageviews, then $0.30 per 1,000 extra pageviews.
- Pro, $25 a month: 300,000 pageviews, then $0.30 per 1,000 extra pageviews. Adds geo targeting, Global Privacy Control, IAB TCF v2.3 and monthly scheduled scans.
- Ultimate, $55 a month: unlimited pageviews, weekly scheduled scans, a custom logo and the option to remove CookieYes branding.
Velo prices by monthly sessions. A session is one visit, and it includes one or more pageviews. Free covers one site and 2,500 monthly sessions. Pro covers unlimited sites with one session allowance for the whole account: €7 for 10,000, €12 for 25,000, €19 for 50,000, €29 for 100,000 or €49 for 250,000. Velo prices are in euros, include VAT and are billed monthly. Source: Velo pricing.

What the same sites would cost
Two common setups, priced from each company's published monthly plans on 23 September 2026. Velo counts sessions and CookieYes counts pageviews, so the CookieYes figure depends on how many pages each visitor opens. Your analytics tool reports pages per session.
| Setup | Velo | CookieYes |
|---|---|---|
| One site with 40,000 monthly sessions | €19 a month, VAT included. Pro with 50,000 sessions. | $10 a month before tax on Basic, if the site stays within 100,000 pageviews, which is 2.5 pages per visit or fewer. Above that, $0.30 per 1,000 extra pageviews, or Pro at $25 for up to 300,000. Geo targeting and Global Privacy Control need Pro, at $25. CookieYes pricing |
| Three sites with 20,000 monthly sessions each | €29 a month, VAT included. Pro with 100,000 sessions covers all three sites, 60,000 sessions in total. | $30 a month before tax for three Basic plans, if each site stays within 100,000 pageviews, which is 5 pages per visit or fewer. $75 before tax for three Pro plans if you need geo targeting or Global Privacy Control. CookieYes pricing |
- The units differ. Velo counts visits across your account. CookieYes counts page loads and reloads on each domain. The same traffic always produces at least as many pageviews as sessions.
- Currency and tax. Velo shows euros with VAT included. CookieYes shows US dollars with local taxes added. We have not converted currencies.
- Billing term. Both figures are monthly. CookieYes gives two months free on annual billing. Velo bills monthly.
- Features at each price. Geo targeting, Global Privacy Control and IAB TCF support start on CookieYes Pro, so compare Pro prices if you need them.
How to switch from CookieYes to Velo
The new banner is the easy half of a switch. The work is in the tags that read the old platform's consent state. Our guide on switching consent platforms without breaking tracking covers each step in detail.
- List what CookieYes handles today: its script, any Google Tag Manager template or triggers, automatic blocking rules and your cookie policy.
- Export your CookieYes consent log as CSV before you cancel. On the Free plan, exports reach back one year.
- Write down which consent signal gates each tag now, and which Velo signal will gate it after the switch.
- Add Velo with the snippet or the Velo Google Tag Manager template, placed before your analytics and advertising tags.
- Review the scan findings in Velo, check the suggested cookie categories and set your regions.
- Test accept, reject and preference changes on a staging site. Check what fires, not only what is blocked.
- Remove the CookieYes script and its Tag Manager triggers last.
Existing consent records and the choices of returning visitors need a separate compatibility check, so keep your CookieYes export.
When CookieYes may suit you better
- You sell ad space. If you monetise through AdSense, Ad Manager or another programmatic stack in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google requires a certified TCF CMP. CookieYes lists IAB TCF v2.3 on Pro and Ultimate. Velo is not a registered TCF CMP yet, and our TCF page shows where registration stands.
- You run one site with very high traffic. CookieYes Ultimate has unlimited pageviews for $55 a month before tax. Velo's published Pro tiers stop at 250,000 monthly sessions.
- You want to resell consent licences under your own pricing. The CookieYes agency programme sells discounted licences that you resell. Velo pays agencies a revenue share, and clients pay Velo directly.
- You need weekly scheduled scans or scans behind a login. CookieYes Ultimate lists both. Velo Pro scans monthly and whenever you run a manual scan.
- You prefer annual billing with a discount. CookieYes gives two months free on annual plans.
Questions about switching from CookieYes
Is Velo cheaper than CookieYes?
It depends on your pageviews and the features you need. For one site with 40,000 monthly sessions, Velo costs €19 a month with VAT. CookieYes Basic costs $10 before tax if the site stays within 100,000 pageviews, and Pro costs $25 if you need geo targeting or Global Privacy Control. For several sites, Velo Pro covers all of them in one price, while CookieYes needs a paid plan for each domain. Prices checked on 23 September 2026.
Does Velo work with Google Consent Mode v2 like CookieYes?
Yes. Both pass consent choices to Google tags through Consent Mode v2, and CookieYes includes it on every plan. Velo sets the Consent Mode default when it loads and supports advanced mode on every plan. Google's modelling of declined visits depends on Google's own eligibility rules, and Velo does not guarantee recovered conversions.
Is Velo a registered IAB TCF CMP?
Not yet. TCF v2.3 support is in development and registration with IAB Europe is in progress. If your advertising partners require a registered CMP, use one until Velo's registration completes. Our TCF page has the current status.
How do I move from CookieYes to Velo without breaking tracking?
Switch in order. Map which consent signal gates each tag, install Velo, rebuild your exceptions, then test accept and reject before you remove the CookieYes script and its Tag Manager triggers. Export your CookieYes consent log first, because existing records need a separate compatibility check.
Does Velo charge per domain or per pageview?
Neither. Velo Pro covers unlimited sites and charges one monthly price for the sessions across your account. CookieYes charges per domain and counts pageviews.
